WEDDING TREND TUESDAY - ENGAGEMENT RING TRENDS

As with any aspect of weddings, there are trends that come and go and classics that stand the time. Engagement rings are no different. With online retailers and social media, engagement are more easily accessible and more designs are available to purchase or glean inspiration from. While styles like the classic diamond solitaire will never go out of style, there are some interesting new trends coming out this year when it comes to engagement rings, and we've rounded up a few of our favorites.

Distinctive Settings
The setting of a ring has relied on the shape of the stone in the past, but jewelers in recent years have gotten more creative when it comes to settings, even hearkening to the past for inspiration. Whether it's a unique and eye-catching halo surrounding a center stone, a cluster of jewels in an intriguing arrangement, or the influence of the early 20th century, these trends are sure to look stunning on a certain special finger.

Breathtaking Bands
Along with the settings, there's been a surge of creativity when it comes bands of engagement & wedding rings. Stacking rings - similar to guards - give brides a matching set of rings and is a great way to show personality. Intertwined bands symbolize the beautiful coming together of two lives. A split shank - where the band splits in two as it intersects the center stone - is a modern and sophisticated alternative to a single band.

Color Color Color
Diamonds may be a girl's best friend, but they are no longer necessary when it comes to choosing an engagement ring. Colored center stones can be a great way to add personality and individuality to a ring (and also a cheaper alternative to diamonds). Adding accent stones that are colorful is also becoming more popular, as is a different color metal to encase the stones in.

Does your engagement ring reflect any of these recent trends or is it more of a timeless classic?
