2016 IN REVIEW - PART TWO

There was just so much greatness this past year, we had to have two blog posts to be able to get it all in! Yesterday, we highlighted the best posts from our Facebook and Instagram pages. Today, we will be turning the spotlight onto the blog and our Pinterest page and counting down the five most popular blog posts and five most popular pins, respectively.

However, before we do that, we would like to share a few photos with you from one of the big highlights of our year, The Polar Express event we held for families in need in Northwest Arkansas.

We partnered with LifeSource in Fayetteville to give over 40 families with over 80 children a memorable Christmas experience. The night included hot chocolate & popcorn, a  reading of the classic story of The Polar Express, a traditional Christmas meal, music, gifts each child, and a visit from Santa himself!

Each family was also given a basket of food items, a frozen chicken, and a frozen turkey to make sure they had a good Christmas meal. It was truly a magical night that could not have happened if not for our fantastic sponsors, and we would like to take one last opportunity to thank them and all of the wonderful volunteers that made this night possible. (For a list of all of our generous sponsors, click here.)

2016 IN REVIEW - PART ONE

This year was definitely a memorable one in many ways. It was especially memorable for us here at The White Dress Boutique. We were honored to be able to help over one hundred brides find the perfect dress & accessories for their special day. We also helped many women find bridesmaid and evening dresses and mother of the bride and groom dresses. We love helping someone find the perfect dress for a big event!

As we eagerly anticipate what 2017 has in store, we thought it would be fun to look back on some of highlights of 2016. We've gathered together our top posts from our Facebook and Instagram pages, and tomorrow we will highlight our top blog posts and pins from Pinterest

It's no surprise to us that nearly all of the top posts on our Facebook page this year highlighted our beautiful White Dress Brides. We love celebrating with the women that find their dress, and one of the ways we do that is by posting their photo on our social media pages. Here are the top five posts from Facebook :

1. Carley Tisdale just found her Pronovias dress!!! (January 16)

2. Congratulations to Elise Hallof, who said yes to a beautiful Enzoani gown today! (January 15)

4. Sara Hoover will be a beautiful bride in her Justin Alexander dress she said yes to on Saturday. Congratulations, Sara! (March 28)

5. Kaylie Bartholomew found her dress!!! (January 16)

Our most popular Instagram posts this year were a little more varied. Our lovely White Dress Brides were favored there as well, along with love quotes & song lyrics, wedding gowns, engagement ring photos, and a variety of other types of posts. It was a mixed bag over on our Instagram page!

1. Love color? Us too - especially when it comes to engagement rings. Consider a ring that features your birthstone, like this tanzanite ring, which is December's. #marrymemonday #engagementring  (December 19)

WEDDING TREND TUESDAY - 2017 BRIDAL BEAUTY TRENDS

Our last post covered the bridal fashion trends for 2017. This time around, we are going to look at the best beauty trends on the runways for next year. These trends are great for brides, but can also serve as great inspiration for your everyday beauty routine.

We've put together five of our favorite hair and makeup trends that several designers featured on their runways.

1. Pink Pout
Simplistic, even minimalist, makeup looks were all over the runways this year. Neutral eyes with a pink or peach lip and a flushed cheek were all the rage. Designers like Pronovias, Carolina Herrara, & Romona Keveza featured this look.

2. Bridal Braids
Houghton, Lela Rose, & Theia were just some of the designers took on this bridal hair style. From loose side plaits to face-framing halos to intricate updos, braids and twists made a big statement this season.
3. Elegant Embellishments
Hairstyles got a little help on the runways this season. Designers like Marchesa, Naeem Khan, and Moniuqe Lhullier used flowers, hair accessories, and even necklaces to embellish strands.

4. Fresh Faced
Light, natural makeup looks were everywhere this season. Models for Christos, Watters, Amsale, and more sported dewey, soft makeup with rosy cheeks, subtle eyes, light lips, and glowing skin.
5. Loose Locks
Tousled tendrils, free flowing waves, and undone updos were seen throughout runways this season, including Ines Di Santo, Rivini, and Reem Acra. These romantic trends are perfect for no fuss brides and add a bit of edge to classic bridal looks.

Which 2017 beauty trend are you excited to try?

WEDDING TREND TUESDAY - SPRING 2017 BRIDAL TRENDS

We love to see what our amazing designers come up with each new fashion season, and this spring's trends have got us excited!

High Necks & Halters
High necklines were all over the runways for spring. This buttoned up trend lends itself to a more regal feeling when done in lace, but can also be modern and sleek in a satin fabric.

Halter necklines were also a very popular option among designers for next year. This classically sporty look is a great way to have coverage in the front, but be a little daring with an exposed back.

Florals
Floral elements on bridal fashion can take many forms. Look for 3D embellishments, bold floral embroidery, and even floral prints to adorn gowns in 2017.

Daring Details
2017 will be a great year for more fashion forward and bold brides. Sexier designs are becoming more popular, with plunging necklines, bared shoulders, and alluring cut-outs.

Color
Color is a great way to stand out & take a chance as a bride. We are seeing a lot more blush and champagne tones that we love, but more and more designers are taking bigger risks with color. Pastels, blue tones, metallics, & even black gowns were seen on the runways.

Accentuated Arms
Sleeves and covered arms continued to be a popular style element among designers. Beyond the fitted sleeves we have seen the past couple of years, flutter and bell sleeves, capelets, and jackets were seen on many runways.

Distinct Bottoms
Moving beyond ball gowns and flared mermaid skirts, designers are giving brides more options. Detachable skirts, separates, shorter lengths, high-low skirts, and even pants were seen on the runways for 2017.

We love these upcoming trends and are looking forward to having some of these beautiful gowns available soon! Come see us to discover at what trends you love.
