WEDDING TREND TUESDAY - FOOD TRUCK WEDDINGS

Food trucks seem to be everywhere these days, including weddings. They have become a fun and delicious catering option for brides and grooms.

There are a few things to keep in mind if you think a food truck would be a good fit for your big day:
  • Food trucks will obviously need to be outside, so keep the weather in mind. Your guests will have to stand and wait in line for food, so if it's very hot, or very cold, it may lead to unhappy guests. Milder spring or fall weather is more ideal for a food truck, but if you have your heart set on a summer wedding, find a shady spot for the truck to park, or have fans or cool drinks and treats available for guests while they wait.
  • You should plan on one food truck for every 75 or so guests. Any fewer, and the line for food may get too long and people may become a little grumpy. It's also not a bad idea to get food trucks that feature different types of food, that way your guests have options and can choose whichever appeals to them. There are also dessert food trucks that you can use instead of or in addition to a traditional cake.

  • If you don't want to have a food truck for the main entree, there are other options. You can have a food truck waiting after the ceremony to serve appetizers or hors d'oeuvres. There are also dessert food trucks that you can use instead of or in addition to a traditional cake. You could also bring in a truck toward the end of the night as a sort of "midnight snack" for your guests.
